“Noël chez les Tolkien”

Photographer: Scardo (@scardoninicolas)

Musical poetic show with the companie 6-4-2, Bazil Fenot, Gabriel Oliveaux and myself.

Summary

Before becoming the famous fantasy author we know today, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote extensively for his children.
Every December, they would find a letter waiting for them under the Christmas tree… signed by Father Christmas!

Today, it is Tolkien’s great-grandson who opens the attic for us, revealing the contents of this extraordinary correspondence, which lasted nearly 30 years.

For the duration of an evening filled with classical, lyrical, jazz, and traditional music, the audience is invited to discover the adventures of the North Pole’s inhabitants: Father Christmas, of course, but also his helper the North Polar Bear, his secretary elf, and their neighbors — the Red Gnomes and the Man in the Moon.

When winter comes

Shadow-puppet scenery, soft lighting, and delicate notes of resin and cinnamon — everything is set to spark the audience’s imagination.
This performance will delight children and parents alike, while also surprising many Tolkien enthusiasts.
There will even be a few gifts, so everyone can take home a small keepsake from the show!

This production is a true Christmas eve gathering, immersing us in an intimate atmosphere to the sound of the accordion, gently carried by song and text filled with humor and poetry.

Jeunes talents au festival Mac3

Jeanne and I were delighted to be welcomed by the Mac3 Festival for the “Young Talents” concert.
Our program was centered around reverie, melancholy, and contemplation — ranging from 19th- and 20th-century French works to improvisations performed right in the middle of the Hôtel-Dieu cloister in Dole, with its wonderful acoustics.
