Myrtille cayot

mezzo-soprano

about her

A velvety and radiant voice that embraces you while moving you deeply.

Myrtille’s voice is often described as warm, velvety, and magnetic, capable of carrying the audience from intimacy to powerful spirals. Indeed, artistry blends dramatic force with a rare tenderness that envelops and uplifts.

Perfectly suited for the alto solos of great oratorios such as Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, her timbre resonates with particular affinity in the music of Gustav Mahler. Recently, she performed Das Lied von der Erde with the Musikkollegium Winterthur under the direction of Anna Sułkowska-Migoń.

On the opera stage, Myrtille has embodied strong, ambivalent characters: Carmen, Jenny (in Die Dreigroschenoper), and the Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica). Each role is for her an opportunity to explore intense yet complex emotions.

Her concert experience ranges from Bach’s Matthäus Passion to Rheinberger’s Missa in C, alongside collaborations with international festivals from Shanghai to France.

Her training in scenography at ENSAA Duperré, Paris, support her vocal work, it nourishes her ability to shape performances that are as visual and atmospheric as they are musical. She is currently completing her Master in Vocal Performance at the Zurich University of the Arts, in the class of Sarah Wegener.
